Terms of Use

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and Daydremr for Shelf (the “Licensed Application” or the “Services”). They also serve as the custom end-user licence agreement for the App Store, and include the minimum terms Apple requires of a developer EULA. If you do not agree, do not download or use Shelf.

Your privacy is described separately in the Privacy Policy.

Apple’s standard Licensed Application EULA, which applies to App Store apps that do not supply their own, is published by Apple at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. These Terms are our custom EULA. They are consistent with that standard licence and with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

1. Acknowledgement

This agreement is between you and Daydremr only, not with Apple. Daydremr, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Licensed Application and its content. These Terms do not provide usage rules that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions or the Volume Content Terms.

You and Daydremr acknowledge and agree that Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA and that, upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this EULA against you as a third-party beneficiary.

On Google Play, Google is not a party to this agreement. Billing for Play purchases is still governed by Google’s own terms.

2. Scope of licence

The Licensed Application is licensed, not sold. Daydremr reserves all rights not expressly granted. The licence granted to you is limited, non-exclusive, and non-transferable, and lets you use Shelf:

  • on any Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing
  • on Android devices you own or control, if you downloaded it from Google Play

You may not distribute or make the Licensed Application available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time, except as the Usage Rules allow. You may not transfer, redistribute, or sublicense it. If you sell an Apple device, you must remove the Licensed Application first.

You may not copy (except as this licence and the Usage Rules permit), reverse engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, modify, or create derivative works of the Licensed Application or any part of it, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law or permitted by the licences of open-source components included with the app.

These Terms also govern content, materials, and services accessible from or purchased within the Licensed Application, and upgrades that replace or supplement it, unless an upgrade comes with a new licence.

3. Your account

You need an account to use most of Shelf. You must give a real email you control, keep the account reasonably secure, and be responsible for activity under it. You must be at least 13, and old enough to agree to a contract where you live.

You may delete the account from Profile at any time. Deletion removes the library we store. It does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; you cancel that with Apple or Google.

4. The service

Shelf is a personal game library: you save games, file them on shelves, track progress, and optionally import a library from Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games, or GOG, or a list from Backloggd. Your library has a profile page you can share. The catalogue is supplied by IGDB and similar sources. We do not sell the games themselves.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Catalogue facts, covers, trailers, and playtime figures can be incomplete or wrong; they are for personal organisation, not a guarantee about any title.

Connecting a platform is optional and is subject to that platform’s own terms. Steam, PSN, Xbox, GOG, and Backloggd are read from the public profile you name. Epic Games is read with an authorisation you give us by signing in on Epic’s own page. You must only link accounts you are allowed to access. We may refuse or drop a connection that fails, is private, or looks abusive.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Paid features are sold as Shelf Pro. Prices, duration, and any free trial are shown in the app and on the store listing at the time of purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm.

Auto-renewing subscriptions renew unless you turn auto-renew off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price shown. You can manage and cancel in:

  • iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions
  • Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions

Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription where the store requires that. A lifetime purchase is a one-time unlock of Pro for as long as we operate the corresponding product; it is not a subscription and does not auto-renew.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund rules, not by Daydremr. Restoring purchases in the app re-reads a purchase you already made; it does not charge you again.

We are not a party to the payment contract between you and Apple or Google. Store billing terms apply in addition to these Terms.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Services for anything unlawful
  • attempt to break into, scrape at scale, or disrupt the API or catalogue
  • misrepresent a connected platform account as yours if it is not
  • harass, abuse, or impersonate anyone through the Services
  • put anything unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or infringing in your profile name, photo, or bio
  • use the Services in a way that violates a third party’s terms — for example your wireless data agreement, Steam’s subscriber agreement, or the PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games, or GOG terms

You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the Licensed Application. If the app uses a third-party service (for example a mobile network), you must not be in violation of that agreement.

7. Your content

You keep whatever rights you have in the library you build — shelves, ratings, and the name, photo, and bio on your profile. You grant Daydremr a worldwide licence to host and display that content solely to provide the Services, which includes showing your profile page to anyone who has its link. We do not claim ownership of your library.

Your profile page is public to anyone who has its link. The Privacy Policy lists what it shows. We may remove a profile name, photo, or bio that breaks these Terms, and suspend an account that keeps breaking them. To report a profile, email support@daydremr.com.

You can export a copy of your library from Profile. Game names, artwork, and trailers remain the property of their rights holders and of catalogue providers such as IGDB.

8. External services

The Licensed Application may enable access to our services and to third-party services and websites (together, “External Services”), including Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games, GOG, Backloggd, IGDB, YouTube trailers, Apple, Google, RevenueCat, OneSignal, and PostHog. You use External Services at your own risk. We are not responsible for examining or evaluating third-party External Services and are not liable for them.

Data shown in the app, including playtime, trophies, and catalogue information, is for general personal use and is not guaranteed. You will not use External Services in a way that is inconsistent with these Terms or that infringes anyone’s intellectual property. You will not use them to harass, abuse, stalk, threaten, or defame any person or entity, and we are not responsible for such use.

External Services may not be available in every language or country. You are responsible for complying with local law. We may change, suspend, remove, or limit External Services at any time without notice or liability.

9. Maintenance and support

Daydremr is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the Licensed Application, as required under these Terms or applicable law. You and Daydremr acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the Licensed Application.

Support is available at support@daydremr.com.

10. No warranty

You expressly acknowledge and agree that use of the Licensed Application is at your sole risk. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensed Application and any services performed or provided by it are provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults and without warranty of any kind. Daydremr disclaims all warranties and conditions with respect to the Licensed Application, whether express, implied, or statutory, including the implied warranties and conditions of merchantability, of satisfactory quality, of fitness for a particular purpose, of accuracy, of quiet enjoyment, and of non-infringement of third-party rights.

No oral or written information or advice given by Daydremr or its authorised representative shall create a warranty. Should the Licensed Application or services prove defective, you assume the entire cost of all necessary servicing, repair, or correction. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitations on applicable statutory rights of a consumer, so the above may not apply to you.

You and Daydremr acknowledge that Apple offers no warranty as to the Licensed Application. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Licensed Application, and any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are Daydremr’s sole responsibility.

11. Product claims

You and Daydremr acknowledge that Daydremr, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the Licensed Application or to your possession and use of it, including (i) product-liability claims; (ii) any claim that the Licensed Application fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer-protection, privacy, or similar legislation. These Terms do not limit Daydremr’s liability to you beyond what applicable law permits.

12. Intellectual property

Shelf, the Daydremr name, and the app’s design are ours. Game titles, artwork, trademarks, and trailers belong to their respective owners. The catalogue is used under IGDB’s terms.

You and Daydremr acknowledge that, in the event of a third-party claim that the Licensed Application or your possession and use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, Daydremr, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of that claim.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent not prohibited by law, in no event shall Daydremr be liable for personal injury or any incidental, special, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever, including damages for loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, or any other commercial damages or losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Licensed Application, however caused, regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, or otherwise) and even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of liability for personal injury, or of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation may not apply to you.

In no event shall Daydremr’s total liability to you for all damages (other than as may be required by applicable law in cases involving personal injury) exceed the amount you paid to Apple or Google for the Licensed Application or for Shelf Pro in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars (US$50.00) if you paid nothing. The foregoing limitations will apply even if the above stated remedy fails of its essential purpose.

14. Termination

These Terms are effective until terminated by you or by Daydremr. Your rights terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of them. You may stop using the Licensed Application and delete your account at any time. On termination you must cease all use of the Licensed Application and delete it from your devices.

Sections that by their nature should survive — including licence restrictions, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and Apple’s third-party beneficiary rights — survive termination.

15. Legal compliance and export

You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a region that is subject to a US government embargo, or that has been designated by the US government as a “terrorist supporting” region; and (ii) you are not listed on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

You may not use or otherwise export or re-export the Licensed Application except as authorised by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which you obtained it. In particular, it may not be exported or re-exported into any US-embargoed countries or to anyone on the US Treasury Department’s Specially Designated Nationals List or the US Department of Commerce Denied Persons List or Entity List. You also agree not to use the Licensed Application for any purposes prohibited by United States law, including the development, design, manufacture, or production of nuclear, missile, or chemical or biological weapons.

The Licensed Application and related documentation are “Commercial Items” as defined at 48 C.F.R. §2.101, consisting of “Commercial Computer Software” and “Commercial Computer Software Documentation” as used in 48 C.F.R. §12.212 or 48 C.F.R. §227.7202. US Government end users receive only the rights granted to all other end users under these Terms.

16. Governing law

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Union, these Terms are governed by the laws of your usual place of residence, and you may bring disputes in the courts of that place. Mandatory consumer protections of that place still apply.

Otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, excluding conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that we may still seek injunctive relief anywhere. The United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

17. Changes

We may update these Terms. The date at the top will change, and we will post the new version at this URL. If a change is material we will notify you in the app or by email where we reasonably can. Continued use after the update is acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Services and delete your account.
